3. Measure that string with a tape measure.
4. Important: Adding a heavy pendant? Add 1–2 inches to your chain size. The weight pulls the chain into a tight V-shape, making it sit shorter than the stated length. A 100g pendant on a 20" chain will feel closer to an 18" chain once it's hanging.
